EQUALITY AND HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION (EHRC)

 

In our last Newsletter, we gave the telephone number of the above organisation, which recently replaced the Disability Rights Commission (0845 604 5510). We understand that there have been some problems with the number, however, we have checked it out recently and it is now functioning.

PRESCRIPTION CHARGES

 

Prescriptions will be free from April 2011 . Between April 2008 and 2010, charges for prescriptions and prepayment certificates are being gradually reduced as follows:

From April 2008 a prescription item will cost £5, from April 09 it reduces to £4, and from April 2010 to £3.

The cost of a prepayment certificate reduces as follows:

12 month certificate will cost £48 from April 2008, £38 from April 09, and £28 from April 2010.

4 month certificate will cost £17 from April 2008, £13 from April 09, and £10 from April 2010.
